the focus was on camels ...

The one whose camel is slower will win.

I see that this has been around a while so I'm sure someone has already solved this, but here goes.....
The wise man said, "Swap camels." It is the slowest CAMEL (not rider) that will win, so each man will ride his brother's camel as fast as he can.

couldnt you also follow this logic? the story states: the sheik told his sons to travel to a distant city, not specifying which one. in that case,, couldnt the one who started on the slow camel just have traveled to a closer city, thus getting there faster? regardless, this is a cheesy riddle.

This is funny because I signed up for this web site just to answer this question. The question is tricky, but not for me. When you answer this question, you don't only have to think about geting there, but also about retourning. The wise man told the boys that after you get there and take the treasure you have to put it on your camel to return home, so in that case, the more weight the camel has, the slower it's going to go.

So what do you guys think?

But the riddle said that whoever had the slowest camel would inherit the Sheikh's money. Why would the two brothers be racing as fast as they can? Don't they want the fortune?

well if u looked at the answer the brothers switched camels so if one of the brothers get there first wit the others camel thn tht person gets the fortune

The wise man told one of the sons to "brick" his camel,
then switch camels with his brother.

Its like the tortise and the hare the tortise wins but he is slower. so the conclusion is 'one of you will win this race."
