Romeo and Juliet are found dead. There is broken glass and spilled water around them. How did they die?

Romeo and Juliet are goldfish. The reason the glass is scattered around them is because someone/something happened so that their bowl was knocked over, and Romeo and Juliet died as the result of lack of water.
