Some old riddles from a Lit class in College:
1) I went into the forest and I got it. When I got it I looked for it, but couldn't find it, so I brought it home in my hand.
2) Born long ago, but made yesterday.
and only employed when others sleep.
What few would wish to give away,
But none would wish forever to keep.
3) I went to Boston and stopped there, and I never went there, and I came home again.
My attempt to make one: (I think it's not that bad )
4) Earth and Water, Fire and Air
Look o'er the earth, you’ll not see me there
Water I make when fire ignites
As air a harbinger of final rites

Those were good riddles. Couldn't figure out a single one of them. I understand the answers but i don't get the 2nd part to the 3rd one. "I never went there and I came home again?" what do you mean?

it's a play on words
not all of the words describe motion
for a watch, another word for went is worked.
the watched never worked while it was in Boston
but I did go back to it's owners home in the end

wow i can't believe some of the riddles you guys come up with.....i understand the answers but would never have guessed them
