the equation formed is really simple...
120+x = 60+2x
=> x=60

and hence time = midnight - 180 minutes = 9 pm

haha!! i love maths!!

you lost me when you started throwing in the math... I don't like math anymore... look what you did... you just ruined my life... I'm going to say that its 9 because it's 9 right now. and that's my answer. ha. I have my life back. look what you didn't do....

let x = the current time.

2 hrs later = x + 2; 1 hrs later = x + 1

the statement means:

12 - (x + 1) = (1/2) {12 - (x+1)}

so 24 - 2x - 2 = 12 - x - 1

x = 24 - 2 - 12 + 1
= 9

24 - 2 - 12 + 1 = 11 not 9
