When 5x7 = 13...

what's 5x8?

(I thought of a bunch of problems along this line, this is the simplest)

2) When 1+3+3 = 13, what is x?

2(x-2) = 1.5x+1

i will give the answer for both, but it only makes sense if you know what you're doing. These answers are more like hints...

1)5x8 = 18

2)x=22

The question is... why?

looks like nobody knows so:

a) 5x7 = 13 and 5x8 = 18 because its base 32

b) 7=13 and 10=22 because its base 4
