I don't know if this is right or not,
but is it when you say the girl with the clean face washed 'her face'
that means she wased the dirty girl's face?

With no mirrors, the two girls looked at each other's faces to see how dirty they were. Thus the girl with the clean face thought she had a dirty face and washed her face. And the girl with the dirty face thought she had a clean face like the other girl so she didn't bother to wash.

Just more proof that boys are smarter than girls...
A boy would have used double logic assuming that if the boy with a clean face washed, then it must be himself that is dirty!

lol not all boys. maybe i would have done that, but that cant be said of everyone...
and girls are proven smarter than boys all around, so that sucks for us guys

The girl with the clean face thought her face must be dirty because her friends face was! The girl with the dirty face thought her face must be clean because her friends face was clean.
