15 is a perfectly good answer, as this could possibly be an alternating sequence between adding 2 and adding 5.

If you want to exclude that answer, you need to post a couple of more numbers, and ask us to find the next one after that.

There are very few sequences that can be solved uniquely after just 4 numbers.

What you had to do was write out the numbers.

one three eight ten

Then you add the sum of the letters of 1 and 3 which equals eight. Then you do the same for 3and8, and 8and10.
