12 Weights Puzzle

I hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did.

There are 12 weights.
1 weight looks like the others but weights heavier or lighter.
You are given a balance and 3 opportunities to use it.
You must be able to determine which weight is off and whether it is heavier or lighter then the other ones.

I'll post a solution that I have later to give you a chance to solve it for yourself.
