I just heard this one and I like it:

One lonely night, a king, queen, princess, prince and driver get on a bus. a king, queen, princess, prince and a driver get off. who is left?

I like this one, but it doesn't work well when it's written. I wonder if there's a way to write this so it has no flaws...

This is dumb, but here goes. The king and queen are left, because the prince and princess found 2 playing cards (a king and a queen) on the bus and took them with them when they left.

this is easier orally, and reminds me of the old saying...
Once a king always a king, but once a night is enough!

another silly answer: They're all left because they all get off on riding buses.
