Now wait just a second then there it goes again
Perhaps you nailed it, with a change in direction
Diplomatically speaking, just a loose connection
Take all the credit, when credit is due
Exclaim in surprise, not a point to construe
FWIW - some links for an idea as to my style re these single couplet riddles:
'Twix' or Tweets, A Mutual Understanding, Trips To Win, Confused From the Start, Dont Get Mad, Treasure the Moment, Child's Play, Unexpected Returns, Bottoms Up, Hot Headed, Forsaken, Same Sounding, Sword Play, Same Old, Same Old.

technically it's Three by Two cause each "riddle" has only two lines .. unless the title it's by itself a hint ..
Edit... had some new ideas
second edit is for typos on the 1st one
