Eight is lucky in China, and if it "tips over," you'll never hear the end of it because it's the sign for infinity.

You've seen it recently (we see numbers everywhere), but it hasn't been in the last few years (not since 2008). But I don't see how it's deep in ice.

And asking an infant to walk in a 'figure eight' when s/he's just learned,
May well give him trouble.

hadn't thought of the 'ce'. the 'tip over' line was meant to be the symbol for infinity. intention of the ice line was a figure 8. deep usually means 'really' deep, but it can also mean a cm or so deep carving from an ice skate

also the first stanza can be the figure 8 bonanova pointed out or the actual age of the infant. say its 2 or 3, then they may have trouble getting by when they are 82 or 83
