You know you're a math nerd when...

when I learn calculus in my spare time... (the time not consumed by BrainDen!)

SO I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!

When you've had to explain fractal geometry and chaos theory to so many kids your age, and their only response is "BUTTERFLY!"

When nobody sees the mathematical equation on your t-shirt "engineering= interval E to the Xth power times" (figure out what it says yourself. I've had to explain to the office ladies that it's just a common calculus equation, but dismiss it when they figure out that it's a local college's t-shirt.

When you've just come up with a new mathematical theorem while doing a front-flip in a bounce-house.

when you have a spy code using base 10 canveting into base 37 words (HI=647)

when you help someone 4 grades ahead of you with their math homework(can't do it anymore)

WHen you go on brain den

i feel so stupid in math compared to everyone on Brain Den and i am a grade ahead in math

When you wish you could hang with all of these geeks who have posted on here already :P

Seriously though blush.gif

I know! I wish I could meet all the people here... That's why I like MM shoutbox. You're not with them, but it's nice.

-when you spend that free block trying to figure out why 11, 12 and 13 squared are the reverse of the square of the reverse of the number.

I.e. 12^2 = 144

21 (12 flipped)^2 = 441

Same with 13 and 31.

Technically 11 works too (11 reversed is eleven, and 121 reversed is still 121)

I think I know why!

Small discovery I made in first grade; ANY number (any!) multiplied by itself will always be one integer bigger than the product of that number minus 1 and the number plus 1 [EX. 5x5=1+(6x4), (-1x-1=1+(0x2)]

Fine, TC.(this one's for you!)

-When you spend time making up words on a calculator. 07734=hELLO

7734 - hell

7734-01-06 - go to hell

77345663 - eggshell

35006 - goose

and then the classic one everyone knows: 5318008

^^looking at this, i just realized how much i end up typing "hell" into my calculator in math...wow...

heh heh :D

I have one which would get me reported.

worse than 7734 and 5318008!! :o

i cant seem to find a f, v, n, d, or r on the calculator...

those are the letters that pretty much are killing me on any bad word i think of.

now youve made me curious. <_<
