Mrs Green left for work at 7:45 am, half an hour earlier than normal. She arrived at work at 8:25 am, worked for 8 hours then went home. The trip home took ten minutes longer than the trip to work. When she came home she thought the clock was wrong, it showed 5 pm. What time did Mrs Green usually leave for work?

If she left for work at 7:45 AM this morning, and that was 1/2-hour earlier than she usually leaves for work, then she usually leaves for work at 8:15 AM.

Quite right. Some people spent few minutes working andd writing out on paper then finally realise how easy it is.
