7 x (7+7) + cubed root of (7+1) = 100
7 X 14 + cubed root of 8
98 + 2 = 100

wonderful!!

(7*(7+7)) = 98
+ root7 = 100.64...
- 1 = 99.64... = 100(3sf)

+ root7 = 100.64...
- 1 = 99.64... = 100(3sf)

That doesn't work because you need exactly 100, not approximations. Good try though, I can't get one yet. lol

100 - Back to the Number Puzzles
Using four sevens (7) and a one (1) create the number 100. Except (Edit: In addition to) the five numerals you can use the usual mathematical operations +, -, x, :, root and brackets ().

Spoiler for Solution

I found a third solution:
(77/.77)^1=100

Piece of cake

7 squared + 7 squared +1 +7/7=100

49+49+1+1=100

My answer is: (7?+1)((7+7)/7) = 100
(49+1)(14/2) = 100
50x2 = 100

I thought inverting the 7's was sheer genius
